INVITING | LIVABLE | COMFORTABLE

I lived in Santiago for almost four weeks (Kathleen with me for only one of those), primarily to train at CrossFit Santiago and take my CrossFit Level 1 Certification Course. I stayed in Barrio Lastarria in the center of the city and quickly discovered that it is the most modern and convenient city that we visited in South America. From an amazing workspace a block and a half away to a fully stocked supermarket two blocks away, I had everything I needed to be productive. The public transportation system is cheap and easy to use, albeit crowded. My Spanish improved considerably and I got used to the currency exchange rate, which puts even the smallest transactions into the thousands of Chilean pesos. There are some great restaurants and bars in the neighborhood and even though I didn't do as much sightseeing as in other cities, there were some surprising options right up the street. While it would not be my top destination for a typical short vacation, this is a great place to truly live in for an extended period.
